The track was first teased in a video Olivia's team posted to their Instagram alongside "Obsessed", "Stranger" and "Girl I've Always Been".
On October 18th, 2023, Olivia announced that "Scared Of My Guitar", along with the other deluxe tracks, would be released on a special edition vinyl called The Secret Tracks though RSD. It was polished up and given a re-release with the other tracks and a new one in GUTS (spilled), the deluxe version of the album.
