Madison Hu (born June 2, 2002) is an American actress. She is known for playing the role of Frankie Wong on the Disney Channel series Bizaardvark, that she co-starred with Olivia Rodrigo.
Career[]
Born in Longview, Texas in June 2, 2002, Madison moved to southern California with her parents and older brother when she was two. She is of Chinese descent. Once they moved to Los Angeles, she started getting into acting. She was first exposed to acting when she moved to Los Angeles, CA.
Hu started her career as a child actress. By age 6 or 7, Hu already had a manager in the entertainment industry. Hu's first notable role was on the Disney Channel series Best Friends Whenever, playing the recurring character Marci. She was later cast in the leading role as Frankie in the Disney Channel series Bizaardvark.
Relationship with Olivia[]
Madison Hu and Olivia Rodrigo didn’t know each other when they started the show Bizzardvark but today they are best friends! Madison’s a Texas native who had a recurring role on the Disney Channel series “Best Friends Whenever,” while Olivia is a California girl whose first job was in an Old Navy commercial. What brought them together and created the tight friendship is “Bizaardvark,” the wondrous series on the Disney Channel. Madison (Frankie) and Olivia (Paige) play friends who write and perform funny songs they share on the Internet. Once they hit 10,000 subscribers, the girls earn the opportunity to work from a creative studio space that they hope will take their videos to the next level.
The pair didn’t work together during the initial auditions, but once they got to the tryouts for the studio, they were paired and a friendship was born. After the studio test, they started talking and texting more. And from then Madison knew Olivia was going to be a very good friend of hers. They’ve condensed what it takes most people years to accomplish in forming a tight friendship. They spend all their free time together. The fast-paced nature of the show means it only works if the stars come across as two people who can finish each other’s sentences. Olivia once said that people don’t understand that young people aren’t addicted to their phones, they are addicted to their friends.
Madison appears in the “Bad Idea Right?” music video along with Tate McRae and Iris Apatow as one of Olivia’s best friends.
